I like the look of these lights. Installation is simple. The lighting performance is equal to the stock units. I don’t have much chrome on my truck and these are great for anyone wanting to de-chrome their F-150.

I wanted to black out my flashy chrome truck so I began with this kit. Let me start by saying that the Hella products fit without modification and are sometimes the factory OEM parts as well. Now, this took me about 30 minutes to install. Be sure to replace your flasher bulbs while you are in there as mine flaked off into the sealed area and now I am having to purchase a mini vaccume to get them out. Also, it helps if you take painter’s tape and put it on your front wall of the garage so you know where your headlights land to make adjustment easier later.

Given the fact that this is a new install I don’t have much to add on what would be one of the most important considerations of a an item like this. That would be how well they hold up under normal conditions of use over time. The only negative I have is the manufactures choice of protective cover tape that was used to keep objects from getting into the housings during shipping etc. It was frustrating to have the hardest part of the install be trying to keep the bits and peaces of this overly sticky tape from falling into the housing during its removal. It reminded me of the tape that some stores use to keep people from peeling off items price tags etc. Anyway all and all this is a small matter that most likely can be avoided by some carefully placed heat from a hair dryer in the house before heading out in the cold with them to install. I simply was all set up and ready to install before finding the condition and being a man I was not going to do the smart… |
